I didn’t grow up eating sprouts.

Not even close! I grew up eating what most kids of the 80′s ate. It wasn’t until 2003 that I really took a look at my diet. I had to. After experiencing some concerning digestive issues while travelling in Africa at the end of 2003, I returned home and began a tour of doctors, while building a career in advertising. Three years and 19 doctors later, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. I was told this disease was incurable but I don’t like to be told how things are. I took my health into my own hands and began researching alternative healing treatments. Within one month I was symptom free and remain symptom free from a disease believed to be incurable. UnDieting is how I live and what I teach.

This wasn’t my original dream job… but it is now!

We run this magic out of our downtown Toronto headquarters. It is here in this pink loft that we host the occasional cooking party, shoot all of our online courses, and film live stream classes. It is here that I create all the recipes that I share on my blog, and of coursewhere we also did the photo shoot for my book, UnDiet.

The way we live, think, and respond to the world impacts our personal health as much as how we feed ourselves.
This is also where we created and launched Canada’s first Culinary Nutrition Expert Certification program. We are graduating amazing talent twice a year and in September 2013, this program will be available online. Yes! I do, of course, get out once in a while. Usually I escape to sunny destinations where I run my annual Nourish Your Soul Retreats. You should probably come with me! All of this cooking, writing, teaching and cheerleading led me to write a book. My first book is called UnDiet. Fitting as this is the theme of my life- to break the rules of convention and encourage people to do the same. The idea of UnDiet Revolution is catching on on. At least that’s what my US (Skirt!) and Canadian (McClelland & Stewart) publishers have told me.
